Austria hosted an international meeting for gas transmission system (GTS) operators in Europe in November of this year. The event was attended by representatives of the dispatching services of key participants in the European gas market, including the Gas TSO of Ukraine, SNAM, OGE, GAZ-SYSTEM, NET4GAS, GASCADE, GCA, EUSTREAM, PLINOVODI and TAG.
The primary objective of the meeting was to reach an agreement on the planned preventive maintenance for the national GTS in 2025. Participants discussed work schedules to ensure an uninterrupted gas supply to consumers all year round. Furthermore, a summary of activities from the beginning of 2024 was presented, along with infrastructure development plans for 2025 and the following years. Special focus was placed on promising projects and innovative solutions aimed at optimizing GTS’s operation and improving its efficiency.
Andrii Datsiuk, Director of Dispatching at the Gas TSO of Ukraine, who headed the Ukrainian delegation, emphasized: “These meetings are essential tools for strengthening international cooperation in the gas sector. They provide us with opportunity to exchange advanced experience in dispatching and managing the GTS, as well as to jointly ensure reliable gas transmission for both domestic and foreign consumers.”
Combined efforts and coordination of actions will enhance the reliability and safety of gas transmission infrastructure, which is the basis of energy stability for Europe.
